Cyber attacks on the rise

Cyber attacks are on the rise, so it is more important than ever before that companies and public services take steps to deal with these threats.

Cyber attacks have increased dramatically yet again. In fact, by mid-November 2020, 10 out of the 21 regions in Sweden reported being exposed to ransomware attacks according to a survey carried out by the Swedish Radio channel, P3.

These figures are confirmed by the 2020 PricewaterhouseCoopers’ Nordic Cyber Crime Survey, which reports that 8 out of 10 companies in Sweden have had at least one cybersecurity incident during the past year.

This is why companies need to up their game – especially now when everything is moving online due to COVID-19. Organizations need the help of their employees to protect company data because it is people who are the weakest link – 64% of incidents in Sweden are unwittingly caused by employees.

The solution? Raise awareness about why information security is important and give employees the tools they need to detect and stop the various cyber threats they might encounter in the workplace.
